New Approach

After one year on WordPress.com, I want to thank everyone who decided to follow me, visit my site, comment or like my posts. I truly appreciate your interaction and support of my website.

I have decided to move my main photography site to Smugmug. Here is a link to my site: www.rakmilphotography.com . It has become clear to me in recent weeks that WordPress.com is quite clearly for mixed media blogs and there is no focus on photography per se. That is their niche and I have no issue with it. Indeed I hope to keep up a blog here at WordPress.com

WordPress.com has a lot going for it and many WordPress features would come in handy at Smugmug. Among the best features of WordPress is its community. However, the customization options at Smugmug, are endless and I am very pleased with the results including the protection of my images.

Everyone at Smugmug and Godaddy has the ability to offer discounts on membership.  Please think of contacting me, as I would get some benefit☺

I hope to continue to do postings on WordPress.com and I hope that you will take time to visit my Smugmug site.  For the next while I am moving over my photographs to Smugmug and hope shortly to be posting new sets yet again.

Again my thanks to everyone who reads this or has followed, visited and liked my website and my photos.

  1. You have a very nice looking new website Victor. I thought about smugmug and may build a site at some point but the supportive and very varied community that wordpress offers will keep me coming back. I am a memeber of 1x and the level of photography on display is fantastic but you don’t get what wordpress offers. Besides, it’s cliquey and very much a closed shop. I think we can all learn from all photographers whatever level they, or we, are at. I hope you will continue to post as I very much enjoy your photography.

  2. I checked out your site and it looks good. Beautiful images. Interestingly, I started off with a PhotoShelter website that specialized in photography and got bored by myself and so went to WordPress and found the interaction that adds so much. I understand both sides of what you are saying. Best of luck with your endeavors and glad to hear you’re still hanging around WordPress.
