The first photograph I took of this blister beetle showed it stabbing the plant with legs all over the place, blocking some of its body, it was a confusing view. Moments later something distracted it and this is the shot I chose to post.
It reminds me of some street photography, where the story is told from behind the main players. There is a bit of mystery added by this sort of perspective but it can be overdone. Some photographs trying to take advantage of this are simply photographs of backsides.
However, for an insect to be distracted by something when it is being closely examined by an animal at least a thousand times bigger (me), is a bit weird.
