Infrequent as it may be that a bird’s call actually means you can find it, this was one case where movement, loud cries and a colorful mouth got my attention. Normally you would never get this close to a Catbird that spends most of its time in low dense foliage. I suspect that at the time it was mating season and the fuss being made had something to do with that. From a compositional perspective I like the orange mouth and fact that the bird appears to be looking at us.
