Both these photographs pleased me so I figured I should show them both. As I learn more about Black and White Photography I am finding it easier to see compositions that work in B&W. The road has been mainly solitary, as my usual sources of knowledge and inspiration for things photographic have not helped me with the finer points. I think that the secret to Black and White is something you eventually understand like riding a bike, difficult at first then suddenly obvious.
This works both ways! I do think it’s hard with nature to convert to B&W. Not so much the flower itself but all the greenery around it. Well done!

I learned a lot about what works in B&W by going on a couple of street photography workshops. Now I am hooked. It isn’t easy to see in monochrome but doing both versions is a great self-teaching exercise. Nicely done.
