Metalic Bees Two Photographs)

It is not hard to imagine why Agapostemon Bees are my favorite bees. Even though I only came across two of them this season. If not for the quality of the results I would be disappointed. Flash does terrible things to these bees and these bee shots, I will admit, they had to be repaired. As subjects go, these seem to be the most passive and least affected by human activity around them.
WOW!!!

Stunning colors. They look almost artificial. I know otherwise but WoW!

Thanks. I would love to be shooting insects more, but as you can imagine the season is short.

The colors really are superb. The purple flower is great, but the greens of the bee are particularly good — the flash can definitely “mess” them up! (Interestingly though some “metallic green” sweat bees look more yellow than green in bright light.)
