Going For a Walk

Going For a WalkTo view more of my photography please click on www.rakmilphotography.com

Frequently when we see Great Blue Herons, they will walk from one spot to another before beginning their patient hunt for food. Taking a slow and steady pace, oblivious to almost everything around them. It is certainly possible to frighten them off, however, they are the largest of birds and they can afford to ignore most anything. In 2014 we saw a lot of solitary herons and I will be posting more before long.

    • Thanks. For the most part I shoot with a D7100 at ISO 400, in the f4 to f8 range. For birds I use a 300mm, or 70-200mm lens. I edit in Lightroom and Photoshop and often add of bit of detail with Nik software. Any settings are a starting point. I have shot Herons from a few feet away to several yards. Hope this helps.
