Geese in Row (Five Photographs)

As the summer moved along the weather was not great and the reflections in the water mirrored the weather. Without changing my settings all that much the pictures became somewhat painterly; I believe my exposures were a bit low but I liked the effect and it has worked on other subjects as well. The geese were still chasing each other on the lawns but on the water, couples and solitary geese seemed much more relaxed and certainly less noisy.

  1. Definitely the feel of paintings. The top image is especially good and I was drawn to the open beak – a nice touch.

  5. The reflections are great! The ones we have invading here are just pests leaving presents on the sidewalks.

    • Thanks. Point taken they do the same on any lawn or field here. They just act a little better in water.

  8. I like the last image the best. All of these geese lined up seems to fit the rather disagreeable personalities well.
