The light is phenomenal, not quite back-lit but a sort of edge lighting that in these examples brings out the best in the bird.

I think fall and spring has some really nice light specially the warmth that it adds. Really nice herons.

The Blue Herons are great. I especially like the turtle buddy in the second shot.
