Wood Duck Portrait

I was shooting the male wood duck when the female swam into the frame (she photo-bombed the shot). I think it makes for an interesting portrait. While the viewer maybe drawn to the female duck’s eye, you can’t really miss the male so I think the photograph works, even if it is a bit odd.

  3. I think the male is sufficiently dominant for the female not to be a distraction. Such a fine bird.

  4. I like the shot even if it is photo-bombed. It seems relevant that the mate is in the background. Very domestic! 😉

  8. Beautiful portrait! I’m heading out right this minute to see if I can catch a glimpse of the Wood Duck family nearby that someone told me about just this morning 😉
