Red Squirrel in the cold

I was struck by the smile on this little fella. Getting pure whites in winter or at least the white that your eye sees is tricky, under-exposing by a stop or more and working with white balance is the solution. Frankly, I hope not to have to use that tip for several more months 🙂
Cute little critter.

I love red squirrels and miss them. In Scotland, they used to visit my garden quite often. You really did capture their charm and the sweet face. It’s a lovely composition with the warm colored squirrel among the snow.
