I take every opportunity to get a detailed portrait against a nice background. You can overdo the worrying about backgrounds, and often great ones are hard to come by, but you make use of depth of field, angle etc. to make improvements. More dramatic processing can be used to improve the background but that is a matter of taste.
Truly exquisite image, Victor. So beautiful!

This is wonderful!! Getting this level of beautiful, sharp detail in her face and head is truly a challenge that you mastered here!

The colouring of the back feathers really stood out and the thin line of a similar colour on the bottom of the beak created a natural harmony in the photo. Your subject was perfect.

When I get your blog email there are no pictures and the main thing I am seeing is “to see more of my work go to my website” so am not actually seeing anything, and as with many people i get a lot of blogs by email so just read the ones that have content

That’s probably because I want to make it somewhat difficult for people to take my content.

But then is nothing interesting to see, so me and am sure many other people will just skip your posts, why not post images of work in progress, low res or skewed, so not easily reused
