Napping in the tree

I know what pests raccoons can be and the mess they make but in the forest it’s a different matter. I think we can be excused for finding this kind of cute. The crowd of people who managed to photograph this guy over two days was treated to quite a show; I would have liked to see his paws. When we saw him there were only a few people about and we did not wait around. My patience does not extend to waiting for an animal to wake up and decide to come out or go deeper in the tree for a more restful sleep (as I am told he did a half hour after we left).

  2. Sweet! I will need to show this to my kids. They’ve been desperate to see a raccoon since we moved to America but so far we’ve only caught a brief glimpse of one in the pitch dark.
