Normally a blown out sky and a small bird essentially back-lit (a circumstance that increases noise on your subject) is a prescription for disaster. However, the bird has character! This is one case where I think that the “rule of thirds” helps. The electrical wire is a strong element in the photo and helps lead the eye. If you find yourself with a similar back-lit subject remember that too much de-noising smooths out the detail and that careful sharpening helps.
