Song Sparrows (Five Photographs)

You hear the song sparrows but rarely see them in the forest. I have a better chance downtown off my balcony when they land on the streetlights. These photographs were all taken in the forest. The easiest shots were on the ground, but the backgrounds were particularly bad. If you can find them in the trees these birds move frequently and will often have their back to you. Their eyes are dark. It’s tough finding them in the sunlight, in focus and out from behind leaves. However, given how common they are it’s good practice when the time comes to shoot the rarer and more unusual migrants when they pass through twice a year.
These shots are great! What cute little birds

The smaller the bird, the bigger the song–have you noticed? 🙂
