Lady Slipper Orchids at the Purdon Conservation Area (Two Photographs)

The Purdon Conservation Area outside of Ottawa is unique for the cultivation of these plants. We arrived a little late in the season and most of the plants had seen better days but these two shots stood out from my collection. The mosquitoes were fierce but we battled through. The light was poor in the marsh, but the area is well-kept with lots of signs explaining what you are seeing. Well worth the visit. Tomorrow’s post will cover butterflies that flock and inhabit the area.
