Unexpected Beauty

My wife and I follow the same path in the nature park almost every time we go. That way we notice things more easily. When we turned a corner to a break in the foliage where we sometimes see birds on the lake, this Iris took us by surprise. The space was very limited and getting a larger view of the plant was not feasible. I was not terribly happy with the background and knocked it back, lowered detail, contrast and saturation, in a way framing the flower.
