The Scale of Things and my 1000th Consecutive Daily Post

On the occasion of my 1000th consecutive daily post I want to thank everyone who has visited my site on WordPress.

Including something or someone in a scene to give a sense of scale can give a photograph more meaning. We can then better appreciate what we see. This fly is half a centimeter in size; most leaves are much larger so it’s a good guess that when you saw this picture you realized how small the fly actually was. Scale in insect photography is difficult, if you pull back too far the insect is too small, but it is very nice to have an element of scale when you can, even if it is only implied.

  10. That’s quite a milestone. Congratulations on your 1000th post in 1000 days. It’s inspiring to read what you’ve done. I’ve just about reached the midway point in the NoBloPoMo challenge, which means I’ve done 14 posts in 14 days and I confess I wasn’t sure I’d make it all the way to day 30. But reading about what you’ve been able to do has made me determined to make it all the way to the end. Thank you!
