Cormorant (Three Photographs)

I am told these birds are a menace because they can decimate the fish population. I am fond of their looks and they make for great photographs. The “portrait” shot is perhaps just within acceptable limits for resolution, still it’s pretty dramatic, which is not something you would normally expect of a bird like this.

  1. I think of submarine periscopes when I see cormorant’s necks sticking out of the water. Nice shots.

  2. Nice series, Victor. I like the last one that captures the blue eye and hooked beak best.
I think it is ironic that some (humans) call the cormorant ‘a menace because they can decimate the fish population.’ Ya gotta be kidding! HUMANS have overfished the planet! 😀
