Skippers (Three Photographs)

I love these little posers. Skipper butterflies make great subjects, they are sometimes found in abundance. They are complex animals with antennae, proboscis, legs and four wings therefore it takes some work to get them all in focus, let alone visible and distinguishable. The key with insects like this is to shoot as many photos as you can while either you or they move about, some of the photos will show more of the butterfly than others. Careful use of shadow and contrast tools in post-processing will help bring out the various appendages.
