Candy-Striped Leafhopper (Four Photographs)

This was by far the most beautiful insect I came across last summer. These photos show the candy-striped leafhopper in different positions so you can see its eyes and coloring. Turns out its eyes are bigger than its stomach. Unfortunately this creature is a menace to vegetation, especially fresh growth and may be a vector for leaf disease. But as they say, everything has its place in the food chain.
Stunning photos, beautiful insect.

Excellent photos, and an apt name for this colourful little bug.

I got a picture of one of those a couple years ago – I always wondered what it was.

They are pretty cool looking; for some reason, they make me think of 50s cars. Must be the aqua!

This leafhopper looks similar to Graphocephala fennahi, which we in the UK call the Rhododendron Leafhopper. It’s from the family: Cicadellidae

That’s it. I should use the Latin names more. Thanks
