A Tip about Backgrounds (Two Photographs)

PerspectiveTo view more of my photography please click on www.rakmilphotography.com

At the presentation I recently gave on photography one of the tips I mentioned was on backgrounds. The first of these photographs was taken with a slight tilt downwards and the second straight on. The tip is about how to take advantage of a colorful background in this case water. The slight change in perspective, (by tilting down) makes all the difference to the photograph. I have used this with animals and birds on water. Backgrounds can highlight or confuse your subject; they can help isolate your subject, or as in the case here add some texture and color to your landscape.

  2. Very Monet…they’re lovely. It is amazing how making slight adjustments can make a great difference in a shot.

    • Thank you. I would not be the first to say photography can sometimes be a matter of inches.
