Turtles (Two Photographs) and more on Post-Processing – sensor spots

Always a great sign when it’s hot enough for the turtles to be out sunning themselves, although in some cases it appears to be a form of competitive sport.

Cameras with detachable lenses mean that eventually you will have sensor dust. Some programs like Lightroom have a mode where it is easier to see the spots and remove them. If not, magnify your image and working systematically around the image, look for round spots that should not be there, either dark or light. Use the healing tools in your program to remove them. This can take some time but if you do print your photograph or post it, you will be happy you spent your time looking for errant dust. In my next post I will cover white balance and auto-tuning.
