Why Do They Always Fly Away? (Four Photographs)

These Egret shots were a good two stops underexposed to get as much detail in the white feathers as I could. Fixing this has led to some moodier photos than I expected. Working with the white balance had little if any positive impact. In any event the bird was ticked off by a loud audience and flew to a perch just a little bit further away.

  1. Whew … white birds and bright sun … a hard combination of camera settings to balance. Wonderful photographs and very helpful advice. Thanks for todays challenge and smile!
