Spring Azure Butterfly (Two Photographs)

This was an unexpected butterfly in the early cold spring. I saw a total of three of these butterflies. They would fly for a short distance then disappear (not surprising for creatures not much larger than a small coin). Their energy levels are dependent on the sun and so it’s understandable that they made frequent stops in the chill air. This one landed in plain view. Rather than fly away, as you can see in the second shot, it came close to me. I hope to photograph many more  butterflies under better circumstances.
