A Parade of Sorts (Five Photographs)

These are merganser ducks under the care of their mother. Nothing says spring like baby ducks. Shy, wary and very fast-moving when they want to be. Having seen them before and coming across them again since this shoot, they are still a marvel to see. Their colors are nicely set out against the background of the water. Very little post processing required; noise reduction, sharpening and some contrast/exposure adjustments.
Thanks a lot

I have been looking for reference works for “paint and wine” parties that I do. I really like the merganser parade, and wonder if you mind if I paint a version of this to teach from. I like the last photo best, but would add some other elements in the background – make it that the water edge is about 1/3 down from the top, add reeds there, and some sky. Would that be ok with you?

Thank you very much. Go right ahead. Looking forward to seeing the results. Pity I will miss the wine 🙂
