Canadian Warbler (Five Photographs)

Who knew that Canada had its own warbler (and one that resembles Batman)? Walking along a path we met another photographer who pointed out the bird and said it had just been bathing in a stream. That explained the wild gyrations of the bird as it shook off the remaining water and why it did not immediately fly off. The majority of the warblers I have found were in dark spots where the light was filtered through leaves. You take your best shot and hope for the best (e.g. you try to address some of this in post-processing). In this case a levels adjustment in Photoshop helped. I was worried that the eyes were completely black but modest brightening improved things.
Excellent images, Victor. Thanks for liking my American Gold Finc resing between feedings.

Beautiful little warbler. Not one I’m likely to see in Arizona 😦

Such a cute little guy! I love the second to the last one and of course the imitation of Batman.

Nice series. For me the first and last are special. I like the pose of the first and the detail in both but especially in the last.

Fantastic shots of a beautiful bird! I am amazed at the sharpness of your photos. For me, warblers have always been so difficult to photograph.

Believe me when I say that the majority are not sharp, despite my best efforts, I only keep those in focus and work from there. All my warblers were taken handheld, which also poses problems. Vibration control in the lens helps.
