An Appalachian Brown Butterfly (Three Photographs)

Three things about insect photography: 1) most people have never seen even the most common insects up close; 2) the closer you get to an insect the more amazing the detail, color and texture; and 3) in seeing them up close people can relate to them as they do to other animals. I know that having seen many face to face I am not so casual about their fate, on the contrary they open a door to the amazing.
