Lounging About in the Sun (Two Photographs)

I saw far fewer mallards than normal this year, and even fewer chicks. Mallards are often the subject of my photographs and not just because they sit for their portraits, but because in good light their feathers and reflections have interesting details. As well, their facial expressions are frequently interesting. I try to shoot them when  the backgrounds are bit darker, failing that good light on the face is great.

  2. I like Mallards and you are right, they do have some interesting color and details. She (or HE if at molt time) looks pretty comfortable there. Nice images Victor.
