A Mystery (Two Photographs)

There is not enough of the bug to send off to Bugguide.net for identification, although I am pretty sure it’s a member of the true bug family. I saw this creature and bent over to take a shot, after five minutes it still had not moved. Only when I went to take a shot of it from on top did it vanish into thin air.

  3. A juvenile Taedia perhaps Victor? Fascinating juxtaposition of shapes and colors in the first image. I love it! http://www.americaninsects.net/ht/taedia-sp.html

  4. Made for a nice composition, this bug seems to have a little personality. Of course I’m projecting human personality on an insect. 🙂

  5. A work of art–so vibrant. The colors are fantastic, and I love seeing all six legs of this berry-dancing bug.

  7. Very cool how the body matches the raspberry! Some kind of soldier beetle, perhaps?
