Study in Red (Seven Photographs)

Fall colors are just about gone, but a reminder of the last nice days of fall is called for. In our area we will not see warmer weather like this until late March, if we are lucky. Red and green are really strong colors and walking about in the woods etc. the vibrant reds and greens really hit you, with the red standing out over everything else. These were taken with a Fuji XT-2 and the 35 F2 lens which is quickly becoming my go to lens. I am using “Adobe Standard” as my default Camera Calibration and with the exception of noise reduction (which I think does more harm than good with the XT-2), I have followed the same post-processing I would with my Nikon files. The last remaining annoyance of the XT-2 is the EVF faithfully portraying the exposure as I adjust it. The camera is known to under-expose and in over compensating I sometimes get it wrong, something to continue working on.

      • You’re welcome. Even in California’s Bay Area it gets cold. I realize that is relative. But I still miss the warmth.
