There have been many opportunities to take photos of egrets this year and thankfully they were also within reach of my camera. Egrets tend to do interesting things and not just stand around looking pretty. I have learned that noise reduction has a greater than normal impact on white detail in these circumstances, just a little can smooth out details in the feathers. As we come closer to the winter, this may help with snow photos where you may want some detail in your whites.
