Dragonflies (Four Photographs)

I was thinking about the pewter brooches you see of dragonflies and it made me think about doing some B&W dragonflies. Some will say these black and white images are not about the nature of the animal and they may be right. Sometimes we can have it both ways as photographers, identifying, getting action etc. But sometimes I think its useful just to focus on the photography.

  5. Colors do sometimes blend features, but black and white never fails to reveal features like the intricacy of the dragonfly’s wing structure. Beautiful work!

  6. These beautiful shots are to me all about the delicate and intricate wing structure that you might not see as well in the color world.

  7. Nice! I really like the tones! I love photographing dragonflies, and never thought about converting to B&W! I can imagine using Silver Effects and printing on a metallic paper! Thanks!
