A Bit of Street Art (Three Photographs)

After a week of B&W, a shot of color can’t hurt. These three shots of an alley struck me as interesting. In processing I was able to see more details, and it gave rise to some thinking. There are several layers of art here: the architecture, the graffiti by several different hands, and of course the photographer’s eye. With that in mind I hope these have resonance with others. Taken with the FUJI XT-2 18mm lens.

  2. All nice photos but I think an especially good job on the last which looks like it could have been tricky with the shadows and highlights.

    • Thank you. Working shadows and highlights is something I do on almost all shots more or less.

  3. Ah, graffiti – the reminder that it is in our nature to draw on the walls since Lascaux….

    • Or before. These are alley ways or murals created for a contest. But yes graffiti can be awful.

I love street art, there is something so compelling about the anonymous nature of the work.
