A Chickadee’s Lunch (Five Photographs)

I have long wanted to get some shots of chickadees hanging upside down. They are tricky birds that often move as soon as they see the camera, and often fly right at you. I have had more than one land on my lens hood, staring me down eye-to-eye. They want you to feed them, and on walks we often see people holding their hands out with seed hoping to invite a chickadee to feed. Here the chickadee seems to have caught a spider in its web.

  5. Yes! We know exactly what you mean…it’s like they know when you’re going to take the picture and move right THEN! These are awesome – thanks for sharing, Victor!

  7. Great details, Victor. We often see them hunting for food, but rarely get to see what they find.
