Landscapes (Five Photographs)

Landscapes have always interested me and one of the things that caught my attention when I was doing color landscapes a year or so ago was how much influence the color has on the impact of a landscape, often in good ways but it does sometimes detract from the detail. I have left one color shot in the mix here only because I was not convinced about its impact in B&W. These were shot with the Fuji XT-2, and processed in MacPhun’s new Luminar software as well as Tonality CK. I was disappointed that Luminar did not have a filter like one that is in Intensity CK but I was able to create a preset that does the same thing. Luminar makes you really think about processing and carefully do those things you want to do, an impressive program for the Fuji files.

  1. On this occasion the colour shot is definitely a winner. No way to reveal the beauty of the water reflections in B & W.

I also prefer the color shot of the blazing fall trees. The first shot is my favorite with the depth in the reflection-very nice.

  5. I often find landscapes with trees very ‘busy’ – I do though like the one that you put in color as well as black and white.
