A Few Words on Posture (Four Photographs)

The postures in the first two photos are certainly more appealing than those in the latter two. A professional photographer told me many years ago that professional models understand that ultimately the best posture is determined in the camera and that postures that feel and look awkward to the model can look quite normal in camera. It’s the same in public posturing – it’s evaluated in the eye that sees it and the mind that considers it. Unlike photography where criticism is an option, a public posture will always have and always should have a critic.
