Cardinals (Three Photographs)

I had less trouble with this set of cardinals than many others, just a small under saturation adjustment to get rid of the fluorescent red in the chest. Cardinals almost always stare if they decide to hang around and they have some interesting head tilts. It does not take much to scare them off but they are more tolerant than many birds I know. I did one of the photos in Black and White just to see how it would look and I include it here for your interest. You will notice the catch light in eyes in each of the photographs, great lighting never hurts!
I find cardinals one of the hardest birds to photograph. They never stay still and as soon as they are spotted they seem to deliberately go out of site because they hate to be spotted. I don’t see them too frequently but always know they are around because of their songs.

Granted it’s not easy with some birds. There are types that frustrate me.

Ahhh… I’m not the only one who gets that odd red color sometimes with red things (I’ve gotten it often with red flowers).
