Swallowtail Butterfly (Three Photographs)

I always try to get as many details of butterflies as I can especially the eyes, but failing that shadows and form will be just fine. When you get birds, butterflies etc. in a bush, the shadows can be very interesting, worth the higher ISO, and a bit more patience. In the last two photographs the butterfly is successfully extracting itself from a spider web.

  3. Nice captures of an interesting (the butterfly would probably choose a different adjective) situation.

  5. Butterflies are always pretty hard to shoot without patience for sure. Spring time and summer always seems like the time with the greatest opportunities. Is it not winter in your area?
