As many of you will have seen I have been doing a lot in B&W. Part of my photographic learning curve. I have passed on a few pointers and I hope to have a few more. In the case of this egret it makes one of the points that many articles and books make about B&W photography. Contrast is key. Now a white egret against almost any background will stand out, and in color or B&W, the details will be almost the same. However in B&W, the contrast means that there are no distractions, everything else is a frame.
