Northern Shoveler (Three Photographs)

I took a large number of photos of this northern shoveler duck last year. It’s a rarity in the reserve I frequent. One technique I have used here is a vignette, it either lightens or darkens the edges of the frame depending on what you prefer. Vignettes have two attributes, they can unconsciously focus the viewer’s eye by creating a nearly invisible frame, and they can add an artistic touch.
