A Wood Duck and Whole Lot of Nonsense (Three Photographs)

I learned early on to stick with it, you never know when you will get a better “look”. The third photograph adequately depicts my mood when I read that a large company is developing artificial intelligence to score photographs based on the technical and aesthetic quality. I walked away from the photography clubs who insist on the rule of thirds, I am not quite sure how you fight the artificial overlords. For one thing  some aesthetic you like others may despise, to have a machine determine aesthetics on what is generally favoured (ie. as an average of public likes and dislikes) would result in the artistic equivalent of pablum. Being told what to like is Orwellian. I hoping this is a hoax but I fear not.

Strange that nobody has reacted to the frightening idea of being judged by robots… It kind of gives me the creeps, really… I am quite curious about a lot that is happening in the digital world – but have it judge something that for me is based on what I feel as an imperfect human being about it, how it strikes me? Ough!
