A Goldfinch (Three Photographs)

These shots of a Goldfinch are about as close as I normally get to out of camera perfection. I reduced and adjusted exposure, did some noise reduction, used sharpening, added some tonal contrast and cropped to suit my taste. On the last one I highlighted the eye just a bit. Taken with my trusty 200-500mm lens at 500mm (1/500th at F7.1). I managed to get as clean a background as you can expect in a break in the forest. I took about fifty shots and selected these three as keepers. I thought the fall foliage acted as a good frame. The bird was clearly fattening up for the migration.
