A White-Throated Sparrow and a Rant (Three Photographs)

I understand that social media is the place these days to rant. So be it. I was reading some articles on photography and one mentioned that much of today’s photography is clichéd, derivative or boring. Now I consider myself my own worst critic, besides I take photographs for the pleasure of it and I get to present what I like. Now I will freely admit the lack of moiré filter (most cameras don’t have them anymore) affects the feathers on this bird, that the tail is out of focus and the leg twitched in one of the photos. If you did not notice these faults so much the better. I assume a bird on a branch in some cases could be considered cliché; I have read that phrase in a number of articles on bird photography (where the author’s emphasis is on taking the bird doing something). The fact that the white-throated sparrow is quite common could also be seen to make this photo derivative. However, I can hope my audience does not find it boring. And finally and most importantly I liked this bird‘s eyes, the twinkle and the coloring.
