That 50’s American Style (Three Photographs)

These photos are about a shooting style from the 50’s. I don’t think its got a name but when you look back you notice it. In 1957, Albert Anastasia, a mobster was shot in a barbershop and of course the paparazzi were there quickly and some gruesome scenes were shot. The barbershop above reminded me of that. The second photograph reminded me of New York in the fifties when people were still using variations of the box camera and lens hoods were future inventions so light leaks were common. The shot of the buildings has that glow you used to see in the magazines. Then it was more the result of the processing of the photo for printing than intentional, but still for a while was a feature of the era. Always fun to look at old photographs and get some cool ideas for today.
