Magnification (Three Photographs)

Wild life photography often means cropping and sometime quite considerably. It may also include magnification. I have mentioned more than once any cropped sensor equivalence to a full sensor speaks to the angle of view and not magnification. A 100 millimeter lens is one hundred millimeters regardless of sensor. Another way to magnify is in post production where we can increase or scale the pixels. Which is what I have done here. As you can see even sharpest photos with modest attempts to upscale using the latest technology does not always result in the best image quality. This yellow warbler was the first I have seen that remained in one place for more than a minute. It was very far away. By all means give magnification in post processing a chance. Unfortunately the best solution is a longer lens and for the record these were taken with a 500mm lens.
