Canadian Thistle

Actually from Europe it is invasive and called the Canadian Thistle because our southern cousins blamed its arrival on French Canadian traders. More likely it came to Canada and the US at the same time.

  1. Such bright purple. I do love photographing things people think of as weeds or pests-dandelions and snails.

      • They are my speed! I caught a baby and mother snail one day, and it’s one of my favorite photos ever. (I’m assuming it was a mother/baby, as it was a tiny one riding on the shell of a larger one).
