If you are not a gardener with an infestation of these beetles eating their way through your hard work, these jeweled beetles are actually kind of nice on their own or in pairs. Large swarms are another matter.

I have no garden of my own, so it’s easy for me to like beautiful colors and details of these little creatures that you have showcased so well in this shot. The colors and texture of the thistle are quite beautiful as well, creating the sense of a soft spikeyness (is that even a word?).
