The Fuji XT-2 (Three Photographs) Some Comments

As I said in an earlier post I acquired a new Fuji XT-2 in September and some people have asked me about it. This is not a formal review or an endorsement, these are my views. Let me say from the start that this is a mirror-less camera and there is some lag when you turn it off and want to turn it on again quickly or if it goes into sleep mode but it’s minor. Other than that the camera is very responsive. The elephant in the room for me was processing. I had heard about some problems. My question was would the results of processing in Lightroom and Photoshop and my plugins work with Fuji raw files to my satisfaction. Each of the photos here was processed as I would process a Nikon Raw file, though with less noise reduction. I used a neutral density filter in Lightroom on two of them. In each case the exposure was adjusted in Lightroom, smart sharpening in Photoshop, some tonal correction in Intensify CK and then a Photoshop levels adjustment was added in two files to improve contrast. I used Adobe’s version of the “Acros Film” simulation (the files were shot in Acros in camera). I do not believe that the foliage has suffered any worse than it would have with a Nikon file. I am not making direct comparisons of files, what I am saying though is that I am happy with the results. Looking at the photos at normal magnification for their size, I am satisfied with the results.
